Holiday Prep

I wanted to show my easy & effortless ways to get your home in #GladeHolidayMood as part of a fun #shop with Collective Bias, Inc and its advertiser. As always all opinions are my own! #Collective Bias

Right around the time I see snow fall, I get the itch to start decorating for Christmas. I know we are only just into November & Thanksgiving is actually the nearest holiday, So, I resisted the urge {mostly}.

I decided I would only do a little holiday prep, and spruce up our mantle and dinner table. Keep reading to see how it came together!
Confession: I am not a huge fan of the color orange, so when Thanksgiving rolls around, I struggle to want to put anything harvest related up {because more often than not it's orange}. Anyone else feel that way?

So, this year I'll be effortlessly decorating in non-traditional colors while still making our home feel welcoming & festive. I knew in order to finish off our spaces, I was going to need the help of the senses {specifically, the sense of smell}. I had some old candles at home, but they were not the scent I was looking for. I wanted a powerful aroma to fill our rooms and remind us of the holidays {specifically, posadas with my family in California}.

And, after a quick trip to Kroger, I had everything to finish off the mantle, including these scented Glade® candles that smell just like arroz con leche! Which is my favorite Mexican dessert to indulge in during the colder months of the year. It's basically a warm rice pudding, that is sweet, creamy and so delicious!
I think as we get closer to Christmas I will probably switch out the flowers for Poinsettias. I can't remember a Christmas without them, and I fully plan on continuing that tradition in our new home:).

I wanted to do something simple for the dinning area but still have it look & smell festive. So, I glued the glass candles onto the candlesticks.
I was finally able to tackle some home decor projects this week.
I made this simple banner with some extra metallic spray paint I had lying around the house {I still need to add a phrase to the banner: like Give Thanks or Merry Christmas}, but it's coming along!
I also, made use of those little pumpkins we had from Halloween & spray painted them & placed them on the mantle.
I added a little strip of burlap to the vases to make the mantle look more balanced & cohesive {since the wreath is also made of burlap}.
Which scent from the new Glade® Winter Collection candles are your favorite?

Have you already started decorating for the holidays?
