Swimsuit 101 Guide

I know it's still Spring, but the warmer weather has been making me think of Summer & the upcoming swim suit season. So I thought I'd share some of my favorite modest picks as well as some tips on choosing the most flattering suit for your shape.
Swimwear 2015 Picks

Sometimes finding the right suit may seem like an impossible task. But cheer up, there is a swim suit that is flattering on everyone{you just have to know what you're looking for;)}So here are a few tips to aid you in your shopping.

1. First off, know what your primary use for the suit is going to be{swimming laps, surfing, laying out n the beach, etc.}. Narrowing this down will help you get the optimal comfort, support & style out of your suit.

I love my rash guard & bikini bottom combo, especially when I know I'll be out on a SUP or surfing all day long. It's great, because it not only keeps you from getting unnecessary scratches but it also protects your skin from unwanted sun exposure.

2. Halter & Triangle suits draw your eyes to your bust{therefore accentuating that feature}. This style of suit is actually very flattering on many different body types. {And happens to be my favorite style}.
3. Tie-front suits/ruffles/ bows draw your eyes to your bust & give the illusion of extra volume{this is best suited for smaller chests}.
4. If you have a fairly slim/thin frame and want a suit to give your body a more voluminous appearance, then you should opt for a Bandeau suit.
5. If you have a fuller shape, ruching or color blocking goes a long way to slim the figure.
6. If you are expecting, I'd say peplum tops, soft prints and tankinis are your best allies. But, I'm sure that cute tummy would look darling in just about anything!
7. Color matters,  choosing bright colors/patterns will catch the eye & are best for slimmer figures/or for adding emphasis to a certain area{bust/hips}.
8. Darker colors/solid prints give more of a camouflage effect{& are best for fuller areas/figures }.
