It's been almost two months since we made the second largest investment in our marriage & splurged on a Honda Pilot. And, I'm happy to report that we are still loving it! It's so roomy & way more practical with kids than our tiny sedan ever was. Prior to purchasing this bad boy, I promised the hubby to be a good owner & take care of the Pilot in the hopes of maintaining its pristine condition. A few weeks ago I shared ways to maintain your mommy car & keep it organized, well today I'm going to talk about another way in which we can care for & preserve our cars.
Growing up, my mom would always have us get our tires checked & oil changed before a big trip. It was just part of our routine, and one that I know made her feel just a tad bit better about letting her daughter drive up & down the California coast. Although, at the time I found this to be a bit tedious, now that I'm a mom, I totally understand wanting that extra reassurance that your precious ones are in a safe vehicle!
In a couple weeks Kyle & Mallorie are going to be driving up to Michigan to watch the big BYU football game. I love road trips & I really wish we could all come along for the game but the idea of traveling so close to my due date brings on waves of anxiety. So, since I won't be able to join my lovies, I thought I'd do the next best thing and make a pit stop at Walmart to get the oil changed & car inspected.
It's so convenient having the oil changed at Walmart's Auto Care Center & being able to do some grocery shopping while they work on the car.
There's a large selection of premium oils to choose from, I prefer Quaker State Oil. Since our SUV is pretty new, we like to get their Ultimate Durability- Full Synthetic Motor Oil.
Something, I really appreciate about the Auto Care Center, is that they have multiple people come & check the work completed, which gives me extra confidence in their service.
How do you take care of your car? Do you have a checklist you go through before heading off on a road trip?
