Happy New Year! I hope your holidays were wonderful!
With the start of each year, the hubby and I like to sit down & talk about what goals we want to strive towards & accomplish. After having a baby, you can bet getting fit & eating better is near the top of my list! A couple months ago Kyle & I started making subtle switches from not-so-good foods to more wholesome options & slowly but surely we are starting to see results. Something I've started adding back into my mornings & post-workouts are protein packed smoothies! So, Today I am sharing a nutrient-dense berry smoothie that we have been obsessed with lately!
I really love the thick velvety texture of this smoothie with it's subtle hints of peanut and vanilla. It does wonders for my body{and mood;)}, especially after being up all night with a baby!

 Something I've really enjoyed the last few weeks is this new peanut powder from Jif. It is made from roasted peanuts and has no added sugar or salt. So basically, it has the same amount of nourishing protein as traditional peanut butter{but with 85% less fat}. It's become my new favorite way to add the taste of peanut {especially in shakes & smoothies} because it cuts out all the extra calories & sugar.
 Here's what you'll need for this recipe:
  • 1 medium banana
  • 2 tbsp Jif Peanut Powder
  • 2 tbsp vanilla Protein powder
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1/2 tsp honey{optional}
  • 2/3 cup mixed frozen berries
  • 1/2 cup SILK Almond Milk {Vanilla}
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.  Enjoy!
So, what goals have you set for 2016? Are you focusing on fitness or eating better? Or both?
Oh & you can find Jif Peanut Powder in your local Walmart in the peanut butter aisle.
Ok, now that you know about one of my favorite smoothies, lets here some of yours! What smoothie combination would you make with the new Jif Peanut Powder?
