Are you ready for the Super Bowl? With the biggest game of the season only days away, I wanted to make a delicious & easy game day spread that will make cheering on your favorite team all the more delicious! Even if your home team isn't playing, chances are you are still planning to tune in to the game & watch with the rest of the country:D. Super Bowl parties are among my favorite parties to host, first and foremost because of the food! It is snack food galore! With amazing dips, yummy appetizers, lots of sweets, and a lazy Sunday on the couch, I just can't resist!
I always love having snack bars at parties, because once they're all set up it makes it so easy for me to sit back & enjoy the party with everyone else.
And to make this party a little easier to set up & clean up , I opted for lots of disposable serving items & paper party decor{like the tablecloth, banners, bowls, plates, straws, napkins & utensils }. Because who wants to have a huge mess to clean up after a party {not me!}?
These water bottle referees turned out so cute! And the best part is that they can be made in just a few short minutes... You simply cut the bottom off of the cupcake liners and secured the back of it with a little tape & threw on a whistle.
I gave our table & party a little extra pop of color by placing Skittles and M&M's® in glass candy jars{the peanut M&M's® are my absolute favorite, & were the first to dissapear :D}.
If you look closely, you'll notice I filled the bottom of the jars with shredded green tissue paper. I always like to do this with my candy jars because it adds a solid 2 cups of volume to the jars {so you get away with having slightly less candy in there without it looking bad}.
I added some cute football toothpicks to the wraps to make them a tad more festive. And you might notice in the background, I also threw some "flags" on the "field" to make our game day table a little more legit.
I made a couple varieties of whole wheat wraps, one was a pesto turkey & sprouts while the second was filled with hummus, tomato, mozzarella and turkey{yum}.
Since my theme for this Super Bowl bash was "Tackle your sweet-tooth", I wanted to make a big batch of chocolate & creamy peanut butter M&M's® buckeyes. My sweet friend Bethany made these for me last year and I have been obsessed with them ever since! Keep reading if you want to learn how to make them{or scroll to the end of the post for recipe}.
