Dance

You might remember earlier this year our girls started their first Ballet class. Well this week they finished up with their classes and had their very first Ballet recital.
I was a little nervous about how the girls would feel on a big stage {since they were performing in a high school auditorium}. Hayden our youngest, loved going to all the classes but didn't really enjoy practicing afterwards and so going into her performance, we were all a little nervous for her. We just really wanted her to have wonderful memories of dance, and didn't want this one maybe under-practiced performance to taint her future aspirations for it.
But, she surprised us all! She remembered I'd say 99% of the dance and was just so stinkin cute to watch! I mean, we kind of knew she would be:), but It made me so happy that she looked like she was enjoying herself up there on stage!
Now, I might be a little biased, but seeing Mallorie perform at her recital was a true spectacle{and I might have shed a tear or two}! She had diligently practiced all year long and knew the dance{with or without music}, so I wasn't as worried about her being on stage. But I still didn't expect to be blown away by it. She was so comfortable up there, she exuded confidence with the sweetest smile on her face. I am just so happy with what Ballet has taught my girls and the boost in confidence it's instilled in both!
I might have been a little peeved by having to wait over three months for their little costumes, but all that frustration was replaced when they finally arrived {3 days before their recital}:). They look so precious in there little outfits! I love all the little details!!
I don't know how long their interest will be peaked by dance, but I'll tell ya, I'm so looking forward to seeing them progress in Ballet! Crossing my fingers this makes them happy for a long time, because I sure love seeing them dance!
