A few weeks ago, I noticed on Instagram that Nestle Toll House was starting a brand new campaign called Bake Some Good. They've just embarked on a 100 day journey to change the world for the better, one baked good at a time!
They have six incredible Toll House Bakers committed to baking & delivering goodies to the under-appreciated & do-gooders, so they can spread a little kindness & raise spirits. Pretty amazing, right?!
Soon after reading Nestle's post, I was surprised to see an email in my inbox from Nestle, inviting me to fly out to Chicago and join their bakers in their kitchen to make some goodies to deliver to the homeless shelter. I was completely honored & humbled that they would ask me to help on such an amazing cause! So, of course I said "yes"! I was incredibly excited to be part of such a wonderful movement, and something that is near & dear to my heart!
I loved meeting the wonderful Nestle Toll House bakers— Eric, Cherise, Hayley, Sarah, Soyoung, and Kate. They were so much fun to be around and their personal stories were incredibly inspiring! They are all so passionate about the good they are doing & it's easy to see why they wanted to be part of this Bake Some Good initiative!
Chicago was so much fun! I was only there for two days but I still felt like I got to see a lot. Every time I visit, I'm reminded of how beautiful all the architecture is there! There is just so much character everywhere you look!
We met up with Nestle, bright and early on the second day, in their test kitchen. It was so exciting & such a neat experience!
I loved getting an exclusive behind the scenes look at Nestle's work space, how they create and help to spread goodness!
We paired off into teams once there to make our own version of Nestle's chocolatey chip cookie cups (YUM)! I was lucky enough to partner with Hayley, a super kind & down to earth girl, who I got to hangout with & laugh with for a few hours. It was seriously so much fun and it went by way too quickly!
Alright, are you ready for the super simple & delectable Chocolatey Chip Cookie Cups recipe?
The first step is to PREHEAT the oven to 350° F. Grease or paper-line 24 mini-muffin cups.
PLACE squares of dough into prepared muffin cups; press down lightly in center to make a well.
BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until edges are set.
Cool in pans on wire racks for 5 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
You'll be using a Double Boiler to warm the chocolate. Add about 2 inches of water to a medium saucepan and bring it to a very gentle simmer. Place a heat-safe bowl on top of the pot so that the bottom of the bowl is not touching the water.
Add the chocolate chips to the bowl and stir occasionally with a spatula until smooth and melted. (I used Nestle' Toll House Triple Chip Morsels for a good range of sweetness)
Fill each cookie cup with the gooey chocolate. You can top with additional chocolate chips or get creative with toothpicks to make chocolate swirls!

After we finished making our treats, we packaged them up and got ready to deliver them.
As we pulled up to the homeless shelter, I was overwhelmed with a feeling of gratitude for this wonderful opportunity to share in Nestle's amazing project and #BakeSomeGood!
We delivered the treats with notes to thank the men & women who help run the homeless shelter and care for those inside (day in & day out).
While we were there, the vice president of the shelter mentioned how in all his years there, he had never received such a thoughtful thank you. I strongly believe that small acts of kindness CAN make a difference!
I just love Nestle's new initiative! It's something we can all take part in, in our own way, simply by sharing a plate of cookies with neighbors, or dropping goodies to unsuspecting people to acknowledge all they do! This was such an amazing experience and one that I will cherish for many years to come!
If you're like me & want to be tuned-in to all the good Nestle Toll House is doing or just want a daily dose of inspiration, be sure to check them out on their Instagram!
Thanks for stopping by! Have such a wonderful day!
