Christmas came early this year for the Hubbards! Over the weekend we made the drive to Kentucky to adopt a cute furry friend into our family. We named her Izzy and she is the sweetest little thing! We've only had her for a few days but she already has our hearts. She is super smart and has already learned a few obedience tricks like: "sit", "stay " and "go back". We are so glad we got her!
The girls have been begging for a dog for years, but I think they're finally at a good age where they can be responsible enough to help take care of a puppy. All three of our girls are constantly vying for Izzy's attention & to get a little time one-on-one with her. Hayden in particular likes to sneak to Izzy's kennel (when no one is looking) and take Izzy for little adventures (mostly just to cuddle in some obscure corner of our house). They're so cute together!
My biggest concern with getting a puppy was that our house would be doomed to smell like animals. I love pets as much as the next person, but having a clean & cozy home is not up for debate. So, before we decided on a pup, I made sure to wrap my mind around the things we'd need to do to keep our home from having pet odor.
Mainly, bringing out our pet vacuum and steam-clean the carpets on a regular basis, and infusing our home with fresh cozy scents will help keep our home smelling nice!
Do you have for any advice for a novice pet owner like myself for keeping the home from smelling like pets?
