My Progress

We had a few unexpected struggles this month, with three out of the five of us getting pneumonia & the flu. But, now that we're all better, I'm feeling extra grateful for the Jenny Craig program and that I never once had to worry about what I was going to eat (which was perfect, because I didn't have the energy to do more than pop something in the microwave or grab an Anytime bar).
So it’s been 4 weeks since I started the Jenny Craig program and it’s time to share my results! Here's my first post, in case you missed it. Drum roll, please....
As of today I'm down 15 lbs, I've lost a total of 7 inches throughout my body, and overall just feel so much healthier! On average though, with Jenny Craig they say you’ll lose typically 1-2 lbs per week. This has been such a great way to kick start my year & my weight-loss, with very minimal effort on my part (at least in the eating department).

All in all, I've been super impressed with the Jenny Craig program. I think at first I expected the food to taste at best mediocre, but the food was actually quite delicious (and their was a lot of it, so I never felt tempted to eat more). You should know that I'm big on hearty meals, especially for breakfast & dinner, but thankfully the Jenny Craig program delivered! They have a great selection of incredibly satisfying meals like Home-style Roast Beef, Turkey burger, lasagna, and my personal favorite: Country Sausage Gravy Scramble. 
Being serious about losing weight doesn’t mean you have to give up enjoying the foods you love. Jenny Craig has more than 100 menu items, where 40 professional chefs make all the difference.
I loved having a dedicated consultant, someone who had gone through the program before, and was there to cheer me on, motivate me and keep me on track. 
For the most part, every week we would talk and she would listen to my preferences and make suggestions to help me enjoy every one of my meals. I'd have to say that I loved every single meal I tried, with the exception of a meatloaf & BBQ meal.  But, you should know I'm not a fan of BBQ sauce, so  if you are, you'll probably enjoy it. Other than that, I'd have to say the food was very enjoyable! 

The other part of the equation, that the Jenny Craig program encourages is getting active, and working out for 30 minutes a day. 

With the start of the year I've also been working towards another one of my goals, which is to run a marathon, so I've been running an average of 5 days a week for the past month (from 30-60 mins per day). And, with my eating under control, I've really been able to see a difference in my overall shape and muscle definition. I'm not quite where I want to be but it's definitely progress! I'm so excited to see where I'll be in a month if I continue to eat the right portions and exercise daily! 

Jenny Craig has done a great job of creating a fool-proof plan that is very delicious, filling and nutritious. Plain & simple: If you stick to the plan you'll get great results! 

If you're thinking about starting your weight-loss journey, definitely look into Jenny Craig, it's the only diet I've done where I'm not tired from lack of carbs or calories!
