4 Ways To Make Movie Night Extra Fun!

We love family movie nights over here. Not only is it a great time to come together, snuggle up with family and eat lots of treats but chances are you're probably saving a ton of money by opting to stay-in versus going to the theater.

You might remember I recently switched over to the Walmart Family Mobile PLUS Plan & upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy On5 phone ($69), which aside from being incredibly affordable ($49.88) and giving our family a bucket of data, it also gives us a free VUDU movie per month (a value of $7, the same as a new release) that you can enjoy on your smart TV. So, we've been taking full advantage of that perk and maximizing our tax returns in the process by having super fun movie parties!

After a busy week, we all look forward to settling down together and having our family movie night. I know one of the biggest perks of staying home and forgoing the long lines at the ticket office are that we get to go at our own pace and it doesn't typically require too much effort. But, that doesn't mean it has to be boring! And, between getting our tax return, getting great savings on my phone and plan, we've had some extra money to play with: so we've been able to put that towards parties & entertainment {which the girls have loved!}.
I love how this little cinema camera turned out- It's simple, but darling:)! It's made with a  small cardboard box, black foam paper, scrapbook paper, and glitter tape. It took all of ten minutes to hot glue together. You can totally add a little more to it to glam it up a bit, but I was working under a time crunch, so this worked for us.
I ended up making a faux table runner with party streamers and ribbons, because I couldn't find a table-runner with everything I envisioned.

1. Decide on a family friendly movie- we let everyone choose a few and then narrow it down by everyone's top-picks.

2. Make it an event- parties are simply more fun when there's a theme and decor to match it! We opted for a glammed-up concession stand theme but there are so many great options to choose from (drive-in style, old fashioned carnival and of course movie-specific themes)!

3. Snacks- we love to set up a "concession stand" and serve ready-made snacks and treats for our movies. You can totally go all out and make special desserts but we love to keep things as simple and effortless as possible.

4. Invite friends- Sometimes we let the kids invite their friends to join us for the movie, and each time it makes the experience more memorable and special for them.
Our little viewing party was such a success, everyone was happy, well fed & loved the movie (plus on a personal note, it just felt good to know we saved money and were super savy with our tax-refund!)
If you're looking to PLUS up your movie nights or are thinking about upgrading your phone plan, keep Walmart Family Mobile Unlimited Plans in mind {Unlimited Talk, Text, & Data which includes up to 10GB of 4G LTE then 2G plus}!  Switching to Walmart Family Mobile Plans is so easy, you simply: pick a phone or Bring Your Own, and get your SIM Kit for only $19.88 to get everything set-up, then you'll be swimming in savings, data and movie perks!
Have such a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!
