A special thanks to Silpat & Le Creuset for sponsoring today's post & giveaway!
Do you have a go-to recipe that you always tend to gravitate towards?
For me, that's: Grandma's Sugar Cookies recipe, because they're incredibly soft, fluffy and have just the right amount of sweetness. I just think every holiday needs a cookie like this in it's festivities!

I received this darling Silpat St Patrick's Day silicone baking mat last month and I have been itching for an excuse to use it. Now that we're only two weeks away from St. Patrick's day, I decided it was time to pull out my handy mat and start making cute shamrock cookies!
I didn't have a cookie cutter for my shamrocks so, I just used scissors to cut the general shape & then once they were on the mat I re-shaped them to fit the shamrock mold.
If you have little helpers, this is a great time to let them jump in and help, because it's essentially like playing with Play-doh! But if you're anything like us, then your little ones will want to be hands-on from the very beginning up until the very end (which makes it way more fun & memorable)!
I didn't grow up baking as a child, so it's such a sweet experience to
see my daughters so involved and interested in baking. I'm pretty sure
they've gathered more baking knowledge at the age of four & seven then what I had at eighteen going off to
college!
These cookies really are my all-time favorite recipe, because they're soft-baked, thick-cut and have a hint of nutmeg that really makes them unique while not taking away from the nostalgia of the traditional sugar cookie!
If
you're looking for a simple, yummy cookie recipe to try this year, bake
a batch of these for your family. They may even become a favorite of
yours as well!
