Belize + Our Stay at Hamanasi Adventure & Dive Resort...

A special thanks to my friends at Hamanasi for hosting us during our anniversary week and setting the bar high for coastal retreats!
Our newfound obsession with scuba diving & love for adventure is what originally led us to Hamanasi Adventure & Dive Resort.
But once there it was their incredible service, picturesque beaches & diving, mouth-watering cuisine, and rich culture that made our stay there unforgettable.

Here's a closer look at our experience at the award-winning resort in Belize.
~The Resort~
Hamanasi is perfectly situated between the Caribbean sea and the Mayan rain forest, in the town of Hopkins. On the resort you'll have lots of opportunities to learn about the Belizean culture, through traditional music, live Garifuna dance performances, and with their native cuisine (we loved the lionfish panadas)!

If you decide to venture out to their cute little village you'll find delicious food and handmade crafts from the locals at every corner.
Since most guests spend their days out on private excursions exploring all Belize has to offer, it leaves the resort feeling quiet, which was very relaxing.
The resort offers a variety of complimentary activities and games for guest to enjoy, my favorites being the bikes, stand up paddle boards, kayaks, and corn hole.
~The Rooms~
We stayed in a tree house villa and loved the cozy accommodations. We were only a two minute walk from the beach, and a minute away from their restaurant. We loved having our room amidst the trees, it was quiet, intimate and peaceful.
After our excursions, our cozy porch was the perfect way to unwind!
~The Food & Drinks~
The Singanga Restaurant at Hamanasi is so fresh and undeniably delicious. We ate all of our meals here (and on the days we were out on excursions the restaurant packed a lunch for us to take with us).

The hotel serves a wide range of traditional Belizean & international dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They do have a set dinning schedule but in between those hours they serve a complimentary buffet of appetizers (so no one ever goes hungry). Really, all of their food was mouth-watering and cooked to perfection-I loved everything I had!
Kyle loved breakfast, because he got to snack from the two buffets and then get a made-to-order entree (or in his case entrees:D). The blueberry french toast were his favorite!
There is so much to see & do in Belize, so chances are you'll never be bored at Hamanasi.

When you first arrive at the resort, you'll have a chance to meet with the adventure center to plan your fun outings. They offer a wide range of activities, but here are a few we tried and loved: cave tubing, zip-lining hiking up to the epic waterfall in Belize’s Mayflower Bocawina National Park, and spear fishing Lion-fish.
~The Diving~
Belize is well-known in the scuba diving industry as one of the best diving locations in the world. With an array of sea life and a breathtaking reef system, it’s a scuba diver’s dream. And, with Hamanasi being a PADI 5 star resort, you can bet they have a class & dive for divers of all levels.
We had a chance to dive the iconic Blue Hole, but opted instead to go to Turneffe Islands Atoll, the Elbow, Lighthouse Reef Atoll and Half Moon Caye.
In total we had three full days of diving (7 air tanks) and saw turtles, bull sharks, lots of spotted stingrays, a couple of eels, reef sharks and a nice variety of bright exotic fish. It was quite the stunning adventure!
If you’re planning on heading to Belize, don’t miss scuba diving with Hamanasi!
~For Couples~
We spent our 10th anniversary at Hamanasi, and frankly it was unforgettable. During the day we went on a 3-tank dive out to Half Moon Caye and by night the resort planned a romantic dinner for the two of us on the beach and had gorgeous candles lining the path out to our table. It was so romantic, and it left us feeling incredibly pampered!
Staying at Hamanasi was such an amazing experience! I highly recommend them for adventure seekers and couples seeking a romantic getaway!
