We Can Do Hard Things!

On Saturday, we woke up bright & early to support Mallorie in her Healthy Kids Triathlon. This was her second year participating, so she knew what to expect, but she still had some unexpected rough patches during her race (mainly due to a biker crashing into her on the bike portion). But, she picked herself up, brushed her tears away and gave it her all!

Mallorie looked really shaken up when she returned from the bike-leg. She was teary eyed and saying her stomach hurt (her handle bars were bent in the opposite direction, so I knew her crash had been pretty big). During her transition to the running portion of the race, she asked me if I would run alongside her, so I dropped my things and jogged the mile and half distance with her.
Mallorie blew me away with her unshakeable determination to get to the finish-line!

She never quit, even though it would have been so easy for her to feel sorry for herself, to say it wasn't her day, and go home. I am in awe of her tenacity and her ability to do hard things!
I am such a proud mama!
