Today is a very special day for our family! Mallorie turned 8 years old Today and has chosen to get baptized! We are so very excited for her and she has been looking forward to this day for a very long time!
In our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, baptism
begins at the age of 8, when we believe they are old enough to be
accountable for their actions as we strive to continue to teach them how
to choose right from wrong.
Her baptism is scheduled for this Sunday, I'm so excited for her! I still remember my own (as a convert at the age of thirteen) and I remember the wonderful feeling that
overwhelmed me as I made that choice for myself (seventeen years ago) & then again when I came out of the baptismal font. I hope
that she can feel the spirit that day and feel of the immense love that Heavenly Father has for her!
As my little girl prepares herself for
this I have had the opportunity to reflect on her childhood. She is a beautiful, smart, kind,
caring, thoughtful, sensitive, girl. I have never met an oldest child
quite like her. I am so lucky to have this imaginative girl as my own!
I snapped a few pictures of her last Sunday, she looked so gorgeous in her beautiful white dress!
We are so tremendously proud of her, for the good choice she is making in getting baptized. We know her life will forever be blessed because of this decision!
