Medifast for the Win!

A huge thanks to Medifast for providing me with this unique opportunity to regain my health and confidence! As always all opinions are my own!
There are a ton of weight loss programs out there. And so, there will always be both positive and negative reviews + a good amount of misconceptions.

Today, I will be dispelling some of those common misconceptions about Medifast and answering some questions you may have about the Medifast Go diet plan.

Getting started with Medifast.

Your first step is to select your food. It’s really not all shakes & meal bars (they have some hardier options). 

For a month's supply of the Medifast Go program, you'll need 22 boxes of Medifast Meals. There are 7 meals per box. Then you select the 5 meals you'll eat 5 times per day, and in addition, you will have your one “lean and green meal.” The lean and green meal contains protein and your 3 servings of veggies.

TIP: Your lean and green meal does not need to be dinner. If you want to eat it for lunch or breakfast, you can, and you'll just eat a Medifast Meal for dinner. 

As for the regular meals, here are a few of my favorites: chocolate chip pancakes, cereal, Soft Bake meals, bars, shakes and ready-to-go drinks, Chicken noodle soup, beef soup, vegetable chili, and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. They obviously have a lot more to choose from but these are just some of the ones that have stood out to me over the last few months.

The awesome thing about all of the meals is that they're all nutritionally balanced to give you all the same calories, protein, vitamins and minerals. That means you can eat chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast, lunch or for your mid-afternoon snack, or if you’re feeling that sweet tooth earlier in the day, the Cookie Dough Bar is perfect.

Exercise on Medifast
While you don't have to exercise to lose weight on Medifast, it does complement the program very well. I found on weeks that I worked out that I lost an extra pound that week.  
You just want to make sure you don't over do it with like a HIIT workout. I'd definitely incorporate walking before going out for a run, and stick to 15 minutes at first.

Cooking Your Own Food on Medifast
I love that the program gives you the freedom to make your favorite foods (while adhering to their guidelines). So you never feel restricted. You can choose to cook your desired protein and veggies if you don't want the Flavors of Home meals. At of convenience though, I often opt for their Flavors of Home meals (because all I have to do is microwave it for two minutes).

When I first started the Medifast Go program in September I was a little nervous that I wouldn't be able to get results in the timeline that I wanted. But I have been so happy with every inch and pound I've lost! Below is my "before" picture from last year.
