Dreamy Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie bowls have become quite the rage over the last few years, and for good reason! They are incredibly fresh, satisfying and nutrient dense- just what every momma needs to energize her day!
I've been a fan of smoothie bowls ever since I tried one of Hawaii's famous Acai bowls (just a little over five years ago). I remember right when I got back to the states, rushing over to Whole Foods to see if I could get my hands on Acai berries to recreate their smoothie bowl at home. Thankfully, I was able to find Acai sorbet, which helped to kickstart my love-affair with smoothie bowls.  

Smoothie bowls are what I gravitate towards when I need to up my nutrients or I'm craving something refreshing and sweet. I love this smoothie bowl in particular not just because it's dreamy (because it is) but because it gives me a healthy boost of energy that helps me wake up in the mornings. 
This dreamy smoothie bowl gets its fun color from Blue Majik, an organic extract of protein and an antioxidant called Spirulina. 

These bowls make for a delicious breakfast or filling afternoon snack. The nice thing about smoothie bowls is that the combinations are endless and you can pack in as much goodness as you'd like!

Dreamy Smoothie Bowl Recipe
INGREDIENTS
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 3-4 oz of coconut milk or almond milk
  • 1/4 avocado
  • 1 medjool date (you can substitute for 1 tablespoon honey)
  • 2 T of vanilla yogurt stirred with 3 scoops of bluemajik  
  • For the Topping: add blackberries, dragonfruit, blueberries, kiwi, raspberries

DIRECTIONS
1. Blend thoroughly the bananas, milk, avocado, date, and yogurt (with Bluemajik).

2. Pour it into a bowl and top with your favorite granola, fruit or shredded coconut.

3. Enjoy!
